Created attachment 88271 [details] Mixed and duplicate info from a PDF and an MP3 Reproducible: Always Steps to reproduce: 1) Go to a folder with an MP3 and a PDF - each with some metadata that can be collected. 2) Select the PDF. See info in panel. 3) Repeatedly hover, and unhover over the MP3 file so that the information panel switches back and forth between the MP3 and the PDF. 4) With your mouse away from the MP3, so that the PDF info ought to show, give it a few seconds to update. Actual results: You end up with mixed info from both the PDF and the MP3 and there are multiple entries for each bit of info, e.g. title shows 3 times. (Refer to example in attached screenshot.) Observed on Kubuntu 14.04 (Dolphin 4.13.3).
Thanks for the bug report. The widget which shows this information is provided by the Baloo library, so I'll reassign.

I have the same or at least a similar problem: In a directory with several avi's when I select one of them the information panel shows many entries several times.

Git commit 693c4fb5b1c6645fb060d89e5a781281305dec63 by Vishesh Handa. Committed on 12/02/2015 at 16:45. Pushed by vhanda into branch 'master'. FileMetaDataProvider: Refactor code to avoid double inserts This will also result with basic metadata for non-indexed files being shown immediately and later updated when the file is indexed on the fly. Bonjour, I created this topic: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=225&t=124705 Is the problem to be solved one day ? Pierre
Hi, I confirm this bug is solved in KDE 5.5 (just tested successfully, thanks!), however is there a way to apply the fix to KDE 4.13? I'm still running Kubuntu 14.04 on my main machine and the bug is present... Best regards.
I am running Mageia 5 with KDE 4.14.5 ... Pierre
