Hi folks! With all the fancy of Plasma 5 (serious, running the daily git snapshots from openSUSE and the fact that that is working is a testament to your efforts), a few minor thingies are missing. I miss the weeknumbers in the calendar. Perhaps this could be a locale setting (I know our US friends don't believe the weeks are numbered) but at least us Europeans really use our week numbers quite a bit ;-) Any chance this can return? Hugs, Jos

Thanks for the report At this point, we're not going to add those to the official applet shipped with Plasma. But it's Plasma and adding it to the QML would be easy, even distributing the resulting applet would be easy and replacing the current one with the new one is super easy thanks to the right click -> Alternatives... feature. I'm happy to assist with such changes, but not for the official applet, sorry.

Given the overly high demand for this feature I'm reconsidering the decision and thinking about putting it as an option to the main applet. I'll see what the general opinion in Plasma is.
This is something I also miss a lot and a couple of colleagues too. Actually, I'm always complaining about all other calendars that doesn't show the week number.

Sorry for filling a duplicate 338195. WONTFIX is disappointing.
I always used the week number at work, to write down my hours for a week. Now I am really stranded without.
This simple feature may look trivial for some of let me assure you, it is not. Our entire company runs on Linux/KDE. I use KDE for my every day work. We and all our customers plan everything with week numbers. I made the mistake and upgrading to 5.9 and guess what, it feels like someone has cut off my arms because of this little missing number in calendar. Martin Klapetek, please confirm this is going to be fixed ASAP. Thank you
I confirm. For professionals week numbers are veeery important.

@ Martin I do hope this is reconsidered. Week numbers are very important to some users, myself included. I would very much like to see the option to display them as before.
I was very disappointed when noticing that the week numbers were gone after upgrading to Kubuntu 15.04 and Plasma 5. Of the little things, this is the absolutely most important missing things. Just this week I showed a colleague how to look up the week numbers after he had been looking for them on his Windows computer.
Any news? I am really suffering here. I have my terminal window open and I use date command to get week numbers. This is absurd. What's next? Get a paper calendar? :) PS! There is another nag - dates can not be copied from calendar. This is another serious step back to uselessness. Do devs actually use KDE for their daily work or is it just for fun project with no connection to any real life users of KDE? Especially business users.
It's done, waiting for review. > Do devs actually use KDE for their daily work or is it just for fun project with no connection to any real life users of KDE? Yes we do. Not everyone nor everywhere in the world people need and/or use week numbers.

Oh, how nice! Thanks for reconsidering and implementing. I have week numbers back now.
So this is closable?
No, there's still that "part 2" in the reviewboard. That will close this.

With framework version 5.11 week numbers came back. But since 5.12 they are gone again.
The feature is disabled by default and is part of Plasma framework release (where the calendar components are placed), however the option to enable them is only in the next Plasma release, which contains the actual applet. This is unfortunately a consequence of how the releases are structured. tl;dr - wait for Plasma 5.4.
Good work, Plasma team!
I believe I do have plasma 5.4 (Debian unstable, current), and my calendar doesn't have week numbers. Those are very very very important in middle europe's business life.
You can check your plasma version in kinfocenter Also you need to enable week numbers in: digital clock settings -> show week numbers in calendar
And you also need Plasma framework 5.12 at least.
(In reply to Martin Klapetek from comment #27) > And you also need Plasma framework 5.12 at least. 5.14 here
Then you have the option just turned off, just switch it on in the applet settings.
I can confirm that for an explicitly configured instance of the calender applet. I wasn't even aware that this was a dedicated applet. I invoke the calendar by clicking on the "Digital Clock" applet in my panel. How do I configure this instance of the calendar applet which is obviously called up as some sub-applet of the Digital Clock.
Right click on the clock applet -> Digital Clock Settings -> Show week numbers in Calendar. This is already in comment #26.
(In reply to Martin Klapetek from comment #31) > Right click on the clock applet -> Digital Clock Settings -> Show week > numbers in Calendar. This is already in comment #26. Thanks for your patience and excuse me being a particularly bad idiot this time. I simply didn't see the option and apologize. Things are fine now.
