Description kdebugs 2014-04-15 08:03:53 UTC
Sometimes when scrolling the folders panel the the far right or left, the panel scrolls too far, so that you have about an inch or so of white space to the right or left of the columns. (I do not mean like in Bug 293152 where the alternating white and gray lines extend to the edge of the panel - it's just pure white space (though it could probably be a different color, depending on color settings).)
Also, I've seen it sometimes not scroll enough to the left so that names of files are cut off in details view.
Not sure how to reproduce, but it's happened a couple times this week already, so it's kinda rare, but not infrequent.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Here is the insufficient scrolling to the left. I'll try to get screenshots of over-scrolling when I happen to see them next.

Thanks for the bug report. Without instructions that can be used to reproduce the problem reliably, there is little hope that we can do anything about the problem.

It would also be interesting if the issue still occurs in more recent versions, such as Dolphin 4.12.4 (many things have changed since 4.11.5, which is a bit outdated already).

Here's what it looks like when it goes too far. Once this happens, you can scroll a little to the right and back and the space is still there, but if you go nearly all the way over and back, it will be almost gone. This can repeat until the space has gone away completely.

space stays when switching to icons view

Scratch that last part - space doesn't always go away as I described. In fact, I can't find anything to reliably make it go away (besides closing the window). Even changing to icons view maintains this space, however compact view does not display this extra space. I'll let you know if it reproduces when I upgrade, but I didn't see any resolved bug reports about this issue.

expansion ties sometimes missing

Sometimes when the space does go away, the little tie marks and expansion symbols don't appear. The marks do seem to come back if you switch views and then come back to details view.

over-scrolling on 4.12.2

From Manjaro live USB, KDE/Dolphin version 4.12.2.

I cannot reproduce this behavior with Dolphin 17.12.3. Can you confirm that this bug is now fixed?
Comment 8 kdebugs 2018-04-15 00:23:04 UTC
Ha. Nope, I can't reproduce THAT one anymore, either in 17.12.3 or the older 4.x version. (Though in trying to reproduce it, I came across another worse bug in 17.12.3 that is reproducible. I'll have to see if it's already been reported. Constant game of whack-a-mole.)
