On a new document, go to the application menu "Settings" --> "Configure Krita..." and on the General section click on the dropdown box for "Cursor shape:" and choose "Brush Outline with Crosshair". Click "OK" at the bottom of the dialogue box. Now see that when moving the cursor over the canvas, or painting on the canvas, the cursor is just a crosshair and there's no brush outline.

Hm... What graphics card and driver do you use? Did you enable OpenGL? As you can see from this screen, it works for me...

Hi, I've tried with and without OpenGL. I'm using an Nvidia GTX 660 card with proprietary driver, currently 304.117.

I recompiled from Git today to double check and I'm still missing the brush outline on that particular cursor. Very strange!

Weirder, still, I also have nvidia: I use NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-331.20.run
