Description Ryan Nowicki 2013-09-08 14:18:36 UTC
The Muon Updater used to crash every time I would check for updates. But now it just shows the check for updates screen even after I have checked for updates.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch program
2. Click "check for updates"
3.
Actual Results:
Shows again the "check for updates" screen

Expected Results:
Should have shown a screen confirming that I have checked for updates recently.

I can confirm this bug

I also can confirm the reported bug.
It keeps showing "The last check for updates was over a week ago" and "Klicken sie auf Nach Aktualisierungen suchen, um dies zu prüfen" (I'm running a German KUBUNTU, KDE 4.11.2).
The muon updater used to work perfectly until a recent OS update.

I could resolve it as follows on my machine:

1) executing "sudo apt-get update" showed some errors in my case
some package sources could not be resolved

2) removing the package sources

3) using muon update manager again showed no errors any more after update

So there were actually some errors in my case but the error of muon update manager
was to show the wrong error message "... last check is more than ... ago" instead of
"package sources ... could not be resolved"
Comment 4 Ulrich Egger 2013-10-09 21:20:27 UTC
The package resources I refer in my comment and that I removed were the ones that apt-get update refered to in the error messages I got
