Configure dolphin to preview folders. You see nice thumbnails of images contained in a folder in the folder icon. Now, take one folder with images inside and set a custom icon for it. You will see the thumbnails, but the background is neither the icon you have chosen neither the generic folder icon, but a kind of generic "binaty file" icon. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Dolphin -> settings -> general -> previews, activate folders preview 2. Choose a folder that contains images, so you can see thumbnails on its icon. Right click -> properties -> click on the icon -> set a custom icon. Actual Results: You see a generic "binary icon" with the thumbnails of the images over it Expected Results: The icon you have chosen with the thumbnails, or, at least, the generic folder icon with thumbnails.
Thanks for the bug report, but I cannot reproduce the problem. The chosen custom icon is used here. Are you sure that the icon you chose is accessible? In any case, this is not a Dolphin issue - those previews are generated by an external process.
Thank you for testing the report. Yes, I am sure that the icon is accesible. The custom icon appears without the preview and disapears whe one activates the preview. I have tried with a new user and also erasing /var/tmp/kdecache with the same result. I have realized however that if the icon source is "system icons" then it works as expected. The error is only triggered when one chooses "Other icons" with a full path search. A local workaround is to put to add the desired custon icon to the kde theme so you can choose it from "system icons"
Thanks for the reply. I can reproduce the problem now when I choose a non-system icon.
