(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: konqueror Version: 2.2 (using KDE 2.2.0 ) Severity: wishlist Installed from: compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release) OS: SunOS (sun4u) release 5.8 OS/Compiler notes: When using Multi-column view in the file manager mode I would want an option to use "dynamic column width" meaning that the file names are printed in their entirety without the file name word wrapping. Sort of like in MS Explorer. Every column assumes the width needed to display the longest file name in the current directory. Perhaps it would even be possible to let different columns have different widths so that each column is only wide enough to allow the longest file name in that specific column? Just got aware of this nasty bug in konqueror and found this veeeeeeeeery old entry. But seems as if even my KDE 3.3.0 still has this problem! So would anybody please make this possible? Why? Multi-column view with smallest iconsize is the best way to browse my music archive. But not being able to see the full file name i cannot recognize the tracks w/o hovering over the file...
Confirmed on suse9.0 KDE3.3.0. It is very bothering indeed. I have voted for this bug
