After installing some KDE apps (namely, baseapps and workspace) using binary installer, I had systemsettings launched, where I tried to change strange "default" color scheme (which wasn't in fact default Oxygen) to something better. But no matter what scheme I select, the colors don't change. I still have yellow tooltips etc.. Tried this in Windows and Wine, with same results. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch System Settings, go to Application Appearance -> Colors 2. Select some non-current theme (maybe dark, to see contrast) 3. Press apply Actual Results: Color scheme isn't applied. After System Settings restart it still isn't correct Expected Results: Color scheme should apply, and ideally, do it immediately, as in Linux
Fully reproducible with digiKam where you can use application Settings menu to change color scheme installed by KDE. Only Oxgen color scheme can be applied. Note : this dysfunction is also reproducible under MACOSX (typically all non X11 based graphic system) Gilles Caulier

The problem sound like in Widget style used with color scheme. I can reproduce the problem under Fedora 19 (gnome 3) using GTK+ style. Look my comment here : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=299607#c5 Gilles Caulier
For Krita, I found that in the end, forcing either plastique or oxygen when not running in a KDE sessions gave me the most dependable results. All other styles seemed broken.
