When I take the option: place the countries in the map, I cannot do it exactly because I can't see wether the outlnes of the land nor where I could place it. I reported this one year ago but they told me, this isn't a bug from KDE. Could be, but the fact is, that it doesn't work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Kgeography, choose a map, f.ex the USA 2. select the mode: place states /countries into the map 3. You see a color, but you don't see the outlines of the country you want to place in, but sometimes the colored spot takes the form of the border from the states you pass over Actual Results: Can't use the program Expected Results: Should work as it did with Kubuntu 11.04 Natty (after, the same bug was shown with 11.10 and also 12.04, so I reinstalled natty on my computer) My graphic card is a ATI onboard [Mobility Radeon HD 3200] My driver is the xserver-xorg-video-radeon My computer is a ASUS K51 AC with an AMD Dual core QL65. I have no problems with other apps, only kgeography
I wanted to send you a screenshot: the country is correctly exposed on the screenshot, but not on the screen, so it doesn't help.
Are you using kwin or some other window manager? Which KDE version are you running? Any effect enabled in your window manager?
Kwin= window manager, no effex, KDE version 4.9.4 Had a kernel update yesterday, (3.5.0-22.34), no changes
Are you seeing something similar to http://bugsfiles.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=65049 ?

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 285330 ***
I learn in your comment that you have found my bug-report 285330, you say it's a duplicate, maybe, for me not, because it's another distribution. You write resolved, *) that doesn't help me much because one year ago you said the same and the app still doesn't work on my computer. So if you say what I have to do to get it work, I can write resolved too. *) Maybe it's only the web-site who writes "resolved"
*This* bug is resolved, because it is a duplicate of an existing bug and there's nothing else to do. The other bug (bug 285330) is still open because it has still not been fixed as you say.
Ok. I Understand
This weekend i have installed Kubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr) and - voilà - Kgeography works again. I can chage the status to resoved til the next ...
