Application: kded4 ($Id$) KDE Platform Version: 4.8.5 (4.8.5) Qt Version: 4.8.1 Operating System: Linux 3.2.0-34-generic x86_64 Distribution: Linux Mint 13 Maya -- Information about the crash: - What I was doing when the application crashed: This has been making me mad for a week now. I am not sure it is KDE Wallet related though. First it just started freezing during boot at login. If I entered login fast enough it would start going to the box with settings and 3 other widgets I never use. But thats it....freeze...no black screen like others report, no b43 wireless card problem that I can tell when I run lspci it tells me I have Atheros Communications AR9285 wireless network adapter. For a couple of days I was trying to figure this out by doing stuff in recovery mode. Forums kept mentioning the b43 problem which didn't seem like mine. But I found out that if I plugged in my network cable everything runs fine until I disconnect and try to move it. I can even disconnect and reconnect after 5-10 seconds and still be ok. Around 20-30 seconds the screen freezes and I have to restart by holding the power button in. If the report doesnt tell you, I have a Toshiba Satalite C655. Oh, and the 32-bit version is also installed and does the same thing. The crash can be reproduced every time. -- Backtrace: Application: KDE Daemon (kdeinit4), signal: Segmentation fault Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1". I will try that, its weird because everything was working fine for near a month and than a week ago likely after an update, I couldnt get past the login screen. But it works fine if I plug the cable in. Would you be able to point me in the direction of info on removing extra operating systems. I suddenly have 4 & I only want two of them. sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubunto-ppa/backports -y You clearly have made a typo in that commandline . Anyway, that is a downstream upgrading issue. Ask in Ubuntu/Mint forum or other Ubuntu/Mint support channels if you still have trouble in upgrading.
