Description Ralf Jung 2012-11-29 13:50:34 UTC
When the battery applet is loaded and I am on battery, it will often interfere with my screen brightness: For no apparent reason, it changes the brightness down to 0%. This often happens after some short time of inactivity, so I first assumed it was the "Dim brightness on inactivity" feature, but the brightness is not restored when moving the mouse. I can restore it using the slider, or using the brightness keys on my laptop, but it will often change down again soon.

Reproducible: Sometimes

The brightness keys on the keyboard do not have any effect on the brightness slider, and they work even when all other shortcuts are blocked - so I assume they directly affect the hardware.

Is this maybe related to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302130 ? It seems that the QML-rewrite of the applet broke it in many ways, and esp. the applet changing the brightness without me performing any action is a seriously annoying regression. For now, I entirely got rid of that applet, but of course that's not a proper solution...
