On comment 18: Possible workarounds: a) run "kwriteconfig --file kwinrc --group Effect-Logout --key UseBlur false; qdbus org.kde.kwin /KWin reconfigureEffect logout; qdbus org.kde.kwin /KWin reconfigure" Only the first part (kwriteconfig) was successful for me, the qdbus commands did return: qdbus: could not find a Qt installation of '' Anyhow, with only the first command the problem was fixed. I did not try b), c) and d), the description is too cryptic for me. Thank Thomas!
