when trying to geotag a number of pics, google map does not open at all.

Instead, an error message shows up as follows:

On top of the window frame I can read "JavaScript Fehler (="error")

The window headline is:
"file:///usr/share/kde4/apps/libkgeomp/backend-googlemaps.html"

Fehler: Node : ReferenceError: Can't find variable: kgeomapWidgetResized

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. just try to geotag files.
2. I recently update from Kubuntu 12.04 to 12.10 (did work before update)
3. I saw, that additional Java files got installed- KUBUNTU-problem potentially?
Actual Results:
I can open openstreetmap, but not enlarge this map to pick right location

Hi

Is it possible for you to test on digikam-3.0.0-beta2? I am not able to reproduce it here.

like too, but I feel not able to compile nor "build digikam from
sources". At the moment, I am bound to existing packages, best part of
my distro. I have now knowledge to resolve dependencies, etc.

Axel,

We need a fresh feedback here, using last digiKam 4.2.0 ?

The problem went away. I am using Digikam 4.2 under KDE 4.13.3. It's working now.

It might have been a network problem I didn't realize. I am in China and Google works only with VPN. The VPN is not 100% reliable, sometimes showing a connection in Network-Manager, which is broken and disconnected.
