Description Janet 2012-07-10 23:49:09 UTC
When I click on the "Send to" Button in ksnapshot a huge list opens, full screen height, two rows. It would be nice to be able to limit that list and choose only the kipi export plugins really needed - as it is possible e.g. in digikam. That would make the list much more neat and easier to overlook.

Reproducible: Always

Or make a main list that shows applications and after that a menu entry with "export to". For example:

- Gimp
- Gwenview
- ShowFoto
- Print images
- Other applications
- Export to

With 'Other applications' and 'Export to' devided into:

- Other applications
    -- Okular
    -- Print Assistant
- Export to
    -- Flash
    -- Remote comp
    -- Facebook
    -- Etc

Hopefully this is possibly with the Kipi plugins.

For me it doesn't seem too helpful to just sort the long list (which has screen height and two rows here and takes some seconds to load on button press), I'd prefer to have a short list which loads instantly and only contains all possible applications plus just the export functions I really need (in my case just 3 from the long list: print, facebook & email). I'd like to get rid of the not needed export entries.

Maybe ksnapshot can use the digikam configuration for the kipi-plugins? There I already have deselected the plugins I don't need, there shouldn't be any need to do that twice.

it is clear that something should be done, to make this part of ksnapshot more friendly. How precisely, is up to the developer.

It would be nice, if the list is cached, to prevent that it has to be composed every time it is called. It should be sufficient to compose the list the first time the menu is used, after ksnapshot is started.
