It would be nice to have a way to remove entries from the Ksnapshot "Send to" feature. I only ever send to Kolourpaint, and I must have over 20 entries in there. That makes it difficult to find Kolourpaint, and the dialogue takes almost 4 seconds to open.
Or alternatively have a second popup "Open With..." which only contains the applications which can open the image and does not contain any of the "Export to..." items.
Although getting rid of all the "Export to..." items would help, I do not think that adding another button to the interface is the way to go. Furthermore, there are non-export items that are completely ridiculous, such as Internet Explorer. So what if I have IE installed in Wine, there is absolutely 0% chance that I will ever need or want to open a screenshot directly in that application. If another button is to be added it should be a "Configure Ksnapshot" button so that the user might configure this and other issues that have been rejected on the basis of "no configuration" for Ksnapshot.
I also notice this unelegant situation when using KSnapshot. Would it be possible to group the services somehow in a submenu? It would save a lot of space, won't remove functionality either. Hopefully the submenu items can be loaded on demand afterwards. Also, the submenu items could already be loaded while the main window is open, removing the delay.
First, thanks for ksnapshot and allowing it to interact with kipi-plugins for exporting. =:^) FWIW, this is still an issue with kde 4.9-betas, with the issue reported against 4.7. With kipi-plugins installed It takes 4+ seconds to open that menu here as well. =:^( At LEAST caching the data would be useful, to keep ksnapshot from having the same 4-second-plus delay EVERY time I push that button, even if I just clicked away and then immediately pushed it again. Meanwhile, since I'm on gentoo, I can use install-mask to mask most of the individual plugins, which should reduce the scanning time, here.
After clicking "SendTo" it takes 1-2 sec to display all the bloody list. I use only gimp from that list. Please, make an option to remove unnecessary items

Digikam also uses the kipi-plugins. And there it is possible to deselect non needed actions. Maybe ksnapshot can use the digikam configuration for the kipi-plugins? Either the code for not having to reinvent the wheel or maybe the configuration itself, then the user only needs to deselect the unwanted plugins once.
See this review request: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/123342/ - Make "SendTo..." menu smaller by introducing a "More" submenu and make it user-configurable.
Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years and I will be closing this bug. Spectacle is the replacement for ksnapshot now. Please test again and file a new bug for Spectacle if you still have issues. Thank you!
