Version: 4 (using KDE 4.8.0) OS: Linux Open the popup of KMix by clicking on the systray icon. It seems that clicking on the speaker icon doesn't give any visual feedback whether you mute or un-mute the sound card. Restarting KMix restore the icon to the correct state (green waves when not muted, red cross when muted). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Open the popup of KMix by clicking on the systray icon. Mute the sound card by clicking on the speaker button. Nothing change. Actual Results: State not properly updated. Expected Results: Green waves or red cross on the correct state.
It works for me as it should on SC 4.8.0 (OpenSuse packages) with the Gstreamer Phonon backend.
Same issue as Alexis on one system here with the GStreamer backend and another one at home (not sure about the backend there atm). Both Kubuntu 4.8.0.
Another (possibly related) issue is that changing the volume using the mouse wheel over the systray icon is not reflected in the popup channel. Seems like the channel presented in the popup can do changes, but does not listen to / reflect changes from elsewhere.
Maybe a triangle under the button may help. Something like this: http://i40.tinypic.com/sc7r04.png Bye.
Hi. I added this bug as a whishlist: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=292961 Regards.
Sorry for my wrong comment #1 (I hadn't remarked that KMix 4.7.4 hadn't updated from 4.7.4), I now can confirm the button issue.

I confirm issues with the tray popup (voulme leve, mute). Please upgrade to 4.8.1 and report back. See http://websvn.kde.org/?view=revision&revision=1282606
