Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.4) OS: Linux Plasma desktop does not access the internet correctly after an initial failure (loading the session with no active connection). This is evidenced by: - Applets do not load data, after connection is available - "Get Hot New Stuff" module fails with "Loading of providers from file: http://download.kde.org/ocs/providers.xml failed" After the connection is available, this file is accessible both via a browser (Konqueror), as well as wget. Connected via wireless using manual (IPV4 address etc) assignment, with WPA/WPA2 Personal authentication. Connection is initially unavailable, as the wireless module is waiting authentication via KDE wallet. Using the ath9k wireless driver on ASUS G73Jh hardware. Applets enabled: RSSNow Facebook DroptoImageShack LCD Weather Station Magic Folder gmail-plasmoid This appears to be tied to the user profile, as creating a new user will allow the "Get Hot New Stuff" module to work, until modules are set up and configured, and a session logout is completed. I'm speculating that the initial failed attempt (due to no currently available connection) is cached, and not correctly re-tried once the connection is available. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1) Create new user account 2) Configure wireless network with manual settings 3) Set up and configure the following applets RSSNow Facebook DroptoImageShack LCD Weather Station Magic Folder gmail-plasmoid 4) Log off 5) Log on (problem is now observed) Actual Results: - Applets do not load data, after connection is available - "Get Hot New Stuff" module fails with "Loading of providers from file: http://download.kde.org/ocs/providers.xml failed" Expected Results: - Applets load data from web, as appropriate - "Get Hot New Stuff" module correctly loads appropriate files available online.
