Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux I just upgraded from 4.7.3 to 4.7.90 (which is 4.8 beta 2, for kubuntu). And I notice this regression : kcm_randr won't save my dual display settings anymore (each resolution, extended desktop mode, DVI-1 at the right of DVI-0, main output). It was really working fine on KDE SC 4.7. I'm sorry that i can't tell you the version of kcm_randr, but it should be the version provided by KDE SC 4.8. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: I set first each output and their positions (for extended mode desktop) I set DVI-0 as main output I apply thous settings, and then save as default. When I reboot, all settings are missed. nothing has really been saved. Actual Results: No save of a default display. Expected Results: a working saving option, as it was working in previous KDE SC 4.7 KUBUNTU 11.10 OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0.0-14-generic Compiler: gcc
Hi again, I can confirm that the bug still ennoying me in KDE SC 4.7.95 (KDE SC 4.8 RC1). I deleted the .kde directory to have a clean KDE with default settings. I set my extended desktop as wanted, and save it to be my default display configuration. After a restart, I had to set it again... Settings are lost ! Please, fix this bug before the final release. Thank you for your attention. Stephane.

Hello, as said in bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=292751, have you noticed the "Save a default" button underneath the "identify the screens" button? (labels may differer because i don't have englisch as default) Does it work if you save the values this way? I had the same problem until i noticed this (new?) button. Sincerely Markus
Thanks for reporting your bug. Since reporting Krandr has since been replaced by KScreen. It is available in the Plasma 4 series, and is default in Plasma 5 onwards. I hope this solves your issue. If you still have a problem after upgrading please reopen a new bug under kscreen. Thanks
