Application: plasma-desktop (0.4) KDE Platform Version: 4.7.1 (4.7.1) Qt Version: 4.7.4 Operating System: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic i686 Distribution: Ubuntu 11.10 -- Information about the crash: - What I was doing when the application crashed: I added a second panel and accidentally clicked "add default panel" instead of "add empty panel" . The new panel was half the screen width and contained a jumble of overlapping widgets. As soon as I moved the mouse over it to right click it, the shell crashed. (I can't remember if I actually clicked or was just about to, and I can't be sure it wasn't just a few seconds delay before it crashed - it could have just been a coincidence that it crashed as I was moving the mouse.) - Unusual behavior I noticed: I just upgraded to Ocelot, and I'm getting some visual glitches. There are black pixels scattered over the panel background, and when I mouse over a window titlebar the titlebar flickers solid black. -- Backtrace: Application: Plasma Desktop Shell (plasma-desktop), signal: Segmentation fault [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0xb5eb3720 (LWP 1860))] Thread 5 (Thread 0xb51f9b70 (LWP 1866)): #0 0x00716416 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0x001d340e in poll () from /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 #2 0x03eb034b in g_poll () from /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 #3 0x03ea1896 in ?? (In addition to comment #2) My KDE sometime crashed on restart/shutdown of a system. I think, that could be something about drivers on my radeon (HD5730 -- it's notebook, this GPU build-in). I think so because, some day ago I installed kubuntu -- I was on linux-mint kde. There KDE was unbelievable lags, and crashed every time, especially after I has installed proprietary drivers. For some reason I couldn't send bugreports :(
I have an nvidia G84M, so if your crash is network driver related, it's not the same bug.
