Version:           4.5 (using KDE 4.6.0) 
OS:                Linux

when opening  screen sever module,  

it shows "kde control module (kcmshell4), signal:segmentation fault" crash and report the bug.



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
in display and monitor when click to screen sever

Actual Results:  
it shows " kde control module closed unexpectedly .You can help us improve kde software."
in the last "report the bug"



Expected Results:  
change the screen sever time and screen sever

this is backtrack 5 OS and using kde 5.4.3

I guess you are using KDE SC "4.5.3"

Once the application crashes you should get a DrKonqi dialog. Clicking the second tab on it should generate a backtrace, a piece of text which shows some functions and values called before the crash itself and that could help the developers to identify the bug. Try generating and pasting that text here.

Note: sayeed sent me some screenshots by mail.
The function in the backtrace is XF86DRIQueryExtension.

This issue (bug 234689 and other reports like bug 230702) is on the graphics driver. Try to update the drivers of your VGA to the latest available version, and if it keeps crashing you can report the bug to your vendor (nvidia, ati, or Xorg). You can also try to update other libraries in your system like Xorg or the MESA library.
