Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 4.6.2) OS: Linux In previous versions of digiKam, I was able to use the Geolocation features to retrieve a latitude, longitude *and altitude* by clicking on a location. Now in 2.0.0 I get only latitude and longitude. Why do we now have to click a button to look up the altitude value? This feels like a regression. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Select image, go to Geolocation window, drag image onto map. Actual Results: Altitude is not retrieved automatically. Expected Results: Altitude is retrieved automatically.

Having now installed Ubuntu 12.04, I can confirm that this bug is still present in Digikam 2.5.0 using kipi-plugins-common 4:2.5.0-1ubuntu2.
I have version 2.7 on Gentoo, the altitiude is automatically looked up after selecting the lookup of missing altitude values.
Re-tested with Digikam 2.8.0 on Ubuntu 12.10. Lookup of altitude values is still manual. Changed importance to wishlist.
James, It still valid using last kipi-plugins 4.10.0 ? Gilles Caulier
Maik, You don't have fixed this file for 5.0.0 ? Gilles Caulier
Maik, See this file too : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333624 Gilles Caulier
Yes, manual altitude look up from the context menu now works with geonames.org. The desired automatic altitude look up after image dropping on the map is not implemented. I would leave it at the moment like that. We have by the free account at geonames.org only a limited number of "credits" per day. The edit of positions on the map would reduce the "credits" unnecessarily. Maik
