Description Yohan Pereira 2011-06-30 09:00:16 UTC
Version: 4.5.0 (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS: Linux

When using pulse audio to stream audio to a remote audio device (pulseaudio running on another computer). The seek bar in amarok and amarok does not progress forward i.e. it stays at 00:00, but the audio continues to play correctly from the remote device. Hence even after the song is over amarok does not progress to the next song.

In dragon player the issue is a bit more severe because the video also freezes at the first frame.

The vlc and xine back-ends do not have this problem. But lack other features like the Equalizer ( thanks for getting that to work).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) In system settings select Multimedia -> phonon, and give the remote output device a higher priority.

2)Play some audio or video in amarok or dragon player respectively.

Actual Results:
The seek bar and video play back does not work. The seek bar is stuck at 00:00 while the video playback is stuck on the first frame. The audio however works properly and is played on the remove device.

Expected Results:
The seek bar and video play back should progress along with the audio.

You may need avahi installed on both machines

in the PulseAudio configuration program (Paprefs)

enable "Make discoverable PluseAudio network sound devices available locally" for the client,

and "Enable network access to local sound devices" and the 2 options below it.

Does this still happen with latest gstreamer and Phonon-GStreamer? This bug may have already been fixed in gstreamer's pulseaudio element.

This has been fixed now. I think. The bars now work for me.
