Version: 2.6.2 (using KDE 4.6.2) OS: Linux When I change the size of the Konsole window with the mouse (right bottom corner) the whole system freezes. The system is not usable at all, so I can't post a backtrace. I have to power off and on to get back. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Turn on desktop effects, open Konsole, resize the window size. With desktop effects turned off, there is no problem. Actual Results: System freezes. When I wait and move the mouse the mouse icon moves a little bit every 10 seconds or so in the direction of the movement. Expected Results: No system freeze. Last time I experienced a freeze like that was some years ago, when my power supply broke down under WindowsXP. Now I have an Enermaxx with 525 Watts supply. I have a nvidia 9500GT with the actual proprietary drivers from the Ubuntu repos installed. It also occurs after a fresh install of Ubuntu and the nvidia driver with default settings. When I use the nouveau driver, I have CPU hang-ups. I am pretty sure, that it has to do something with the driver, since nvidia drivers do not seem to keep up to new Ubuntu releases. What makes me wonder is that it only occurs with the Konsole window. No problems with dolphin, browser windows etc.
The freeze is caused by a bug of nvidia driver and has been fixed since 275.09.04. http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=163161
