Description Teodor 2011-06-11 20:21:23 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS: All

in earlier versions of KDE (can't say exactly ~4.2) there was an ability to place any widget HOW YOU WANT. it was able to put a widget particaly over the screen edges or pixel-to pixel EXACTLY!!!!!! TO THE BORDERS of YOUR SCREEN - for that you should move a widget like you wish and quickly lock the plasma with a key-combination (alt + d,l - or dont remember - nevermind)and plasma freezes in the position you want(then you even unlock the plasma - the widgets are still there untill you touch it). and what i see in 4.6 (dont know exactly when is started): i CANT PLACE WIDGETS LIKE I WANT!!! there is a stupid invisible border that doesn't let me do this - after blockibg widgets move back to the alignment that limits coordinates of the widgets! but what if i need to place widgets like that? please make widgets free to coordinates - to place them several pixel out of the screen. why are you limiting the posybility of placing icons? and a few words. that would be alsow a good idea to make them moveable everytime - i mean ability to move icons even if the plasma is blocked - offcourse without that transparent bar of every widget. probably it is better to make all of this with an ability to tick those things off for who doesnt need them. and about a bug of "screen corners" "show desktop" - when i want to minimise all windows i move my cursor to the right low corner of the screen and everiyhing start to blinking untill i stop moving the mouse, lookes like everything minimising and maximasing repetedly wile i continuing to move rhe mouse. Could you make it to show the desktop just once while the cursor is still in the corner? like in gnome+compiz

Reproducible: Didn't try

""Reproducible: Didn't try""" - ***i didnt wright it.

alsow it would be cool if the icons on the screen will execute with one click of the mouse when option "double click style"_Activated in dolphin

Actually, I think that moving icons when plasma is blocked is a stupid idea because, in that case, what's the point in that block? But the reason in inability to place widgets where user whants them is don't obvious to me too.

the point of blocking is that you may move ONLY icons; and bars will be blocked (you wount accidentally resize or move it and you will not see that magic round buttonin in the corner, how is it called?), usual plasmoids will be blocked as well, and you wount see the side bar with buttons of every plasmoid or icon.

As i've written, there should be an option to disable ("uncheck" button) this if you don't wish it (or disabled by default, and check to enable)
