Description Kai Uwe Broulik 2011-05-30 15:49:50 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

In 4.7 there is a dropdown list of date types you can show for your digital clock. Since I want the old behavior to have “Monday, 30.5.“ I changed the “Short date” to “WEEKDAY DD.MM“ in the KCM which you can trigger using the wrench button. I applied the changes and the KCM showed them when opening it again but the Plasmoid did not change its text. I had to quit plasma-desktop and restart it to show my changes.

Reproducible: Always

this is because the control panel that records these changes does not notify any applications about this change and therefore there is no reliable way to react to them.

this bug needs to be fixed in kde-runtime/kcontrol/locale/kcmlocale.cpp

Is there any news about this bug ?
I experience this too, even after removing/adding again the Clock Widget, it is not updated.

Still present in 4.8.0

Hello!

This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
