Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.2) OS: Linux Hi community! I've been noticing a weird behavior of KDE Tray Icons, they are getting bigger in certain circumstances, let me show bellow some images that will pretty much speak for themselves. http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=95068 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: When I open GTK applications that have tray icons, when I plug an external driver, when message indicator is running, when Skype runs Actual Results: the tray icons get bigger Expected Results: the tray icons keep their sizes
This bug still appears in KDE 4.8.0. It would be nice if this could be fixed. It happens with a) GTK applications b) Non-KDE QT applications (such as KeePassX or Skype) c) The device notifier d) Notifications (i.e. libnotify) e) The printer applet f) KGpg g) The desktop search (i.e. Nepomuk) h) Maybe some more... It's a little annoying, especially because many of these apps are native KDE apps which shouldn't cause such problems. I guess this is reproducible with any Plasma theme, but you can see it best with themes which normally draw a border around the tray such as Androbit. As soon as any of the apps from the list above appear in the visible area of the tray, the border is pushed outwards. If your panel is small enough (my panel is about 24-30px in height), it vanishes completely.

Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
