Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.2) OS: Linux The following processes are running duplicates immediately following boot and login. They are unable to be killed. akonadi_contact x4 avahi-daemon x2 dbus-daemon x2 ext4-dio-unwrit x3 getty x6 kdm x2 knotify4 x2 kio_trash x2 nepomukservices x5 rtkit-daemonudevd x3 udisks-daemon x2 usb-storage x2 Are they all competing to do the same task, and will this cause corruption? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Boot and login Actual Results: Processes are duplicated as above. Expected Results: Single process for each immediately after boot and login. I'm not an expert, but this does not seem correct. kded4 seems to duplicate as well when I connect to the internet (and get bug 273022 when disconnect).
The problem with akonadi_contact is maybe conected to http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=93355#p188362 I thing in some cases it's could be resolved for a short time with control panel through "kcmshell4 akonadi" removing extra resources.
