Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.2) OS: Linux I want a method for storing of notes. I recently lost notes that were stored in the notes widget. When I switched to the Search and Launch layout for the desktop, the notes icon apparently was still shown. But I didn't see it behind the add widgets view. I was attempting to add some notes to the view, I realized that I couldn't drag the icon onto the desktop, but if I left clicked, it seemingly did something. When I clsoed the view, there there was a notes widget there. Little did I know it was my huge list of notes, I deleted it, thinking it was the notes widget I just created. If we could retrieve saved notes, this wouldn't have been a problem. Reproducible: Always

I was able to reset it by restarting X and also I could have gotten it back to the default view by using some odd shortcut meta+tab which is a default shortcut for "Next Activity." Odd, because I was attempting to switch using the Desktop Settings menu, adjusting the Layout option with no luck. """ And the notes widget was restored as well, but I still would like some option to save. Where are the notes for the notes widget saved by default?
It is saved in ~/.kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc

It's not strictly a duplicate of bug 309136. That feature request talks about exporting notes. This bug complains that content is lost because the notes are saved in plasma-desktop-appletsrc in a non-restorible way, rather than in an external location (like, e.g. the comic plasmoid is set up to do).
Comment #2 on this bug He found the notes that were "lost" then says > I still would like some option to save Other bug: > (I want to) Save note content to file
