Description Igor Strelnikoff 2011-04-06 20:51:19 UTC
Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.1)
OS: Linux

After you enter it incorrectly flogged root in KDE settings, resize the window I was flogged. It increases in length and decreases in height.
See screenshots
In KDE 4.5.5 this problem is absent.

Reproducible: Always

Still present in KDE 4.7.4
Comment 4 Misbachul Munir 2012-10-06 00:48:01 UTC
I can confirm that this bugs still exist on KDE SC 4.9.2. As an additional note, the dialog size changed again after the second wrong password. See screenshot.

Update requesting a patch

This bug still exists in 4.10x with openSUSE 12x series and 4.11.1 right to 4.11.5 with openSUSE 13.1. So for the last three years people have been requesting a patch.

Comment 12 Christoph Feck 2016-07-29 14:48:11 UTC
The size increasing when additional messages need to be displayed is intended.

The wrong initial minimum size should be fixed in kde-cli-extras master.
Comment 13 Nate Graham 2017-11-29 23:30:28 UTC
As Christoph mentioned, the greater subsequent size is intentional and required, to display the extra text. The incorrect minimum size was recently fixed in Bug 381231.
