Description Jonathan Riddell 2011-03-29 16:03:34 UTC
Version: latest git snapshot
OS: Linux

If I do a google search, click through to a different website then click back the google website shows but can not be interacted with

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Rohan Garg 2011-03-29 16:37:06 UTC
Confirmed, targeting to 0.7
Comment 2 Andrea Diamantini 2011-03-29 18:29:59 UTC
I cannot reproduce this either. Can I guess kubuntu is using an unstable QtWebkit 2.x version?
Comment 3 Jonathan Riddell 2011-03-29 18:33:39 UTC
We're using QtWebkit 2.0.2
Comment 4 Andrea Diamantini 2011-03-30 18:28:43 UTC
Uhm... I was thinking about that because I could reproduce this just one time while testing the QtWebKit 2.1 branch.
Anyway this (and the urlbar bug, that in my mind are related) seem reproducible just by you and Rohan.
I'll try asking again in IRC and in mailing list about.
Comment 5 Felix Rohrbach 2011-04-07 17:57:40 UTC
I can confirm these bugs, too.

Comment 7 Tommaso Falchi Delitala 2011-04-14 17:01:24 UTC
I confirm this behavior, after upgrading to 0.7.0.

Arch Linux x86_64,
Rekonq 0.7.0,
Qt: 4.7.2,
Libwebkit 1.2.7

Comment 10 Cédric Bellegarde 2011-04-28 08:26:55 UTC
For information, with konqueror-webkit, this bug doesn't exist, so not a webkit bug but a rekonq bug.
Comment 11 Luca Giambonini 2011-04-30 10:39:33 UTC
Same problem here with version 0.7.
I'm using kubuntu natty x64bit with libwebkit v2.0.2 and Qt4.7.2
Just now it happen only using google.com

valgrind log

Maybe valgrind log can help to explore the bug.

Btw. valgrind crashes each time after google site has been loaded again.
Comment 13 Valter Mura 2011-05-08 10:46:19 UTC
I can confirm the same behaviour with Natty 11.04 32bit, KDE 4.6.2

When I click back the page is blank, but if I click the reload button it appears.
Comment 14 Jörg Afflerbach 2011-05-10 10:53:02 UTC
Same here with openSUSE 11.3 and 11.4, KDE 4.6.3.
Comment 15 Johannes Obermayr 2011-05-16 17:05:11 UTC
Somehow it works on openSUSE 11.4 with KDE 4.6.41_20110508, Qt 4.7.3 and current git master. But only if you go back to google the url bar will show the visited website.

On openSUSE 11.4 with current git master it freezes ...
Comment 16 Kevin S 2011-05-19 04:09:27 UTC
Confirm bug. Kubuntu 10.10 64bit KDE 4.6.2
Comment 17 Silver Salonen 2011-05-20 08:17:17 UTC
Isn't this duplicate of bug 268327?
Comment 18 Johannes Obermayr 2011-05-20 11:27:25 UTC
(In reply to comment #17)
> Isn't this duplicate of bug 268327?

Nope. That is for "back" in general and should be fixed (at least I cannot reproduce it with latest git). Maybe we can close it.

This bug here (# 269701) is only if you searched on google, clicked on a search result and then finally click on "back".
So it is a remnant of #268327 and more specific (IMHO an own bug).
Comment 19 Luca Giambonini 2011-05-20 21:37:20 UTC
For me now it works, I have updated to version 0.7.51+git2011051511 from the repository ~yoann-laissus
Comment 20 Kevin S 2011-05-21 07:11:14 UTC
Confirm bug fixed with update git. Kubuntu 10.10 64bit K.D.E 4.2.6
Good Job, Everyone!!!!!
Comment 21 Felix Rohrbach 2011-05-28 20:10:23 UTC
Still not working here with current git...
Comment 22 Jörg Afflerbach 2011-06-24 08:28:25 UTC
After a recent update of Qt and kwebkitpart it’s now working for me on openSUSE 11.4 :-)

# rpm -qa | grep -iE libqt4-4\|webkit\|rekonq
libwebkitgtk-1_0-0-1.3.10-5.1.i586
kwebkitpart-1.1.0-16.13.i586
rekonq-0.7.0-21.4.i586
libqt4-4.7.3-177.1.i586
kwebkitpart-lang-1.1.0-16.13.noarch
libproxy1-pacrunner-webkit-0.4.6-3.9.1.i586
libQtWebKit4-4.7.3-177.1.i586

Maybe this information is valuable for someone...
Comment 23 Johannes Obermayr 2011-06-24 08:46:03 UTC
Jörg, has been updated the URL bar after clicking back?
On my systems the visited URL stays until F5, changing URL or new search ...
Comment 24 Jörg Afflerbach 2011-06-24 09:51:51 UTC
Johannes, you’re right. I was so happy about the fact, that the Google page was working again, that I didn’t notice that the address bar was still showing the URL of the previous page from where I had returned. (I missed your comment #15 above.)
Comment 25 liam 2011-08-08 07:01:51 UTC
hi i'm a noob to kubuntu had it a couple of days but this google back button problem is really bugging me. I've tried adding yohanes ppa to my ppa list because he seemed to have fixed it via his site. I updated through sudo -update etc. but still have the problem.
what should i enter on my command line to fix this problem (back button browser freeze) any help would be appreciated.

using kde 4.6.2 with linux 2.6.38-10
Comment 26 Kevin S 2011-08-09 06:31:59 UTC

Comment 27 Andrea Diamantini 2011-10-31 10:43:26 UTC
So, can I set this to resolved?
Comment 28 Jörg Afflerbach 2011-10-31 10:53:28 UTC
Yeah, looks good to me with rekonq 0.8. Thanks!
Comment 29 Johannes Obermayr 2011-12-21 17:49:14 UTC
