Description Stephan Diestelhorst 2011-02-18 14:19:51 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

Setting the "Powersave" profiles and "Aggressive Powersave" profiles to minimal brightness (slider all the way to the left) causes no changes of the brightness on profile switch.

This means that the brightness from the normal profile stays, if I unplug my notebook charger. However setting it to other "values" by moving the slider slightly to the right will successfully dim.

Confirmed with xrandr --properties that brightness value is actually reduced to 0 (I am on nine steps, 0-8, and rounding the slider position will likely return 0). Maybe an issue with slider value = 0 meaning no change as opposed to minimal brightness somewhere?

This is a regression to anything < 4.6. On an MSI ind U100.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Edit default "Powersave" profile: move brightness slider to far left.
Unplug notebook charger / manually switch to "Powersave" profile.

Actual Results:
Brightness does not change at all.

Expected Results:
Brightness changes to minimal.

Checkbox for controlling brightness is always checked.
