Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0) OS: Linux When you click a shelf folder, it shows a file several times however they are different files. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Add a folder to the shelf Click and observe the duplicate files. Click them, notice one of them is correct, others are just different files. Actual Results: Several files are shown with the same name and icon different from their original names and mime icon. Expected Results: Each file should be listed once(although this is working properly) and have a unique name and their icons should conform to their type. I don't think there is anything relevant to that with my setup.
I can't reproduce this. Is that folder special in any way?
(In reply to comment #1) > I can't reproduce this. Is that folder special in any way? If symbolic links are considered special, they are. Strangely enough I can't reproduce anymore, maybe it has to do with 4.6 as I recently updated to 4.6.1. But now some "folders" are listed more than once.
Created attachment 64811 [details] same folder in shelf widget and dolphin
I have the same problem. I use KDE SC 4.7.2, but the bug is not new, it was present in older KDE versions too. My shelf shows an folder wtih 4 pdf files. But one file is three times shown in the shelf. I attach a screenshot. On the left side you can see the shelf widget and on the right side the observed folder opened in dolphin.
btw: Now I displayed the search bar for this shelf widget. I start a search by typing some letters and then I delete them. Now the widget shows the right files. Maybe something is not updated correctly?
Confirmed here for 4.7.3 and 4.8b1 It seems to regularly overwrite the filename of the previous files - but quite inconsistently.
