Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0) OS: Linux Shelf applet's favorite application sorting does not follow kickoff's favorites'. Thus I decided to rearrange myself. Drag and drop mix things up, such as icons doubles and do not launch the applications they're supposed to. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: add a shelf to the applet add any group, say favorite applications, notice titles don't fit in the list window (that confirms another unconfirmed bug(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264518)) notice it doesn't follow the order in kick-off favorites try to sort with drag and drop notice some application icons are doubled and most of the applications do not launch proper applications. for example clicking amarok launches kate. Actual Results: I think I explained above. I made a screencast about it, I will try to attach. Expected Results: Drag and drop operation highlights the place during dragging, so it is supposed to place the application where it is dropped and rearrange the others like shifting each application up if they're upper to the dropping place.
I am sorry, I can't confirm the bug I mentioned(264518). I misunderstood when I read it.
The favourites are different from those in Kickoff - it wasn't an intention at all to keep them synchronised (nor it will be). Those are synced with Lancelot as the Shelf applet is based on it. As for the DnD problems, it will be dealt with soon :)
Could you confirm the Drag and Drop bug for 4.7 or 4.8? I get the feeling this is solved, save for some weird name-duplication bug if you don't add a search box https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=266206
This is not fixed yet. A screenshot is in the following link, I am using KDE 4.8 Beta 1 on Arch linux: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/189/shelfbug.png/ Duplication of terminal is due to a drag to reorder. It is fixed when logged out and back in. However on run time all is mixed up. For example upper terminal starts system settings, the lower terminal launches ktorrent and basket launches konsole. I tried to add the config file for the shelf however I couldn't find it(no containment or shelf in .kde4 folder). Though I don't think it will help at all as logging out and back in solves the problem it shouldn't be a config file problem.
Maybe you can merge this with that bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=266206 as it has the same problems. You may consider drag and drop ordering as a clue to the source of the bug.
That's what I suspected, thanks for answering. So I mark this one as the duplicate (altohough it is slightly older) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 266206 ***
