- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Kontact crashed after boot, and after every subsequent attempt to open the program.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Renaming the imap folder (~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/imap/ to ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/~imap/) seemingly resolved the issue, as suggested by another user.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
