Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.95) OS: Linux When I execute an xrandr command to activate my external screen, the plasma panel looses it's transparency and it seems that it's not possible to get it back without restarting plasma. Reproducible: Always The used command is: xrandr --output VGA-0 --left-of LVDS --auto Video driver: radeon KDE 4.6 RC2 from K:D:F repository
i can confirm that the theme doesn't update itself on today's trunk something like one time out of 10. when it does that, the only way is to restart Plasma
[Comment from a bug triager] This may be related to bug 262643/bug 261503 and/or bug 260395/bug 260372 Regards
can confirm this with kde 4.7.0 and nvidia proprietary driver 275.09.07 on kubuntu natty, installed kde 4.7 from kubuntu backports ppa.
I get this all the time. I use always hook up an external monitor in my office and at home, and whenever I unplug/replug an external monitor, the panel transparency is gone. If I change the theme, then the panel itself becomes transparent, but other popups from the panel (task manager preview or system tray notification popups) are not transparent still. I'm using openSUSE 11.4 Tumbleweed with KDE 4.7.
Same problem here after using xrandr --scale. Transparency comes back when I resize the panel to a different width... (ubuntu 12.04)
I meant Kubunt 12.04
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
