Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.95) OS: Linux The kickoff menu seems to be able to find web favorites, and I think recent documents with its built-in search. What it doesn‘t find are Nepomuk files, it cannot calculate stuff and anything else you know from krunner is missing. It should be capable of handling the modules Krunner brings, so you can enter your stuff into the Kickoff menu and get the same results Krunner would bring. The netbook shell also uses those plug-ins, so why not give Kickoff the same functionality? I know it is a bit redundant having it at two places on the desktop but I think a novice user would first look in the kick off search before accidentally encountering that Alt-F2 shortcut for triggering krunner. And also I doubt much code has to be rewritten since the plugins seem to be flexible as both krunner and netbook shell use them. Reproducible: Always
I would like to be able to select search modules for kickoff too. Or make it respect krunner settings.

Should be cool to have this available...
Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
