Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

While I can click on an icon, I can't grab it to drag it somewhere else.

Reproducible: Always

SC 4.6rc1
Qt 4.8 nightly snapshot
Happens with any Plasma theme

this works just fine here; are you sure you don't have any features like "lock in place" turned on in the folderview's configuration?
Comment 2 markuss 2010-12-27 01:51:50 UTC
No, that option is not activated (just the snap to grid option is).
I suspect that it may be an incompatibility with Qt 4.8-nightly which is available from openSUSE's KDE:/Qt48 repo. I'll try to remember downgrading to 4.7.1 tomorrow and try to reproduce the behaviour with it.

I'm aware that 4.8 is no officially supported Qt version but considering that the Lokalize crash bug http://looksblo.wordpress.com/2010/12/25/translators-need-you-lokalize-brokenjdbrx/ does not occur on 4.8, I plan to stick with it anyway (possibly other KDE translators as well).

I found the problem: It only occurs when the global setting for opening files with double-click is activated. In single-click mode dragging files is possible.

The Qt version has nothing to do with this.

[Comment from a bug triager]
- Can we merge this with bug 259335 ?

Yeah, looks like the same. Somehow Bugzilla didn't show me that search result.
