Gyorgy, there is the nofork option, called --nofork, in one word.

I am sorry, but your backtrace is not useful, as you are lacking debugging symbols. If you can reproduce this bug, please check here on how to get a valid backtrace:

http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports

Since you are using Kubuntu, you will need amarok-dbg and phonon-dbg at least, ideally you should also have kdelibs5-dbg, libqt4-dbg and libglib2.0-0-dbg. That should cover most of the crashes.
Comment 4 Gyorgy Simon 2010-11-18 11:30:42 UTC
Hi,
Sorry for the useless trace, I read the document, and I check the
installed packaged what you mentioned, and yes, those are installed
finally, I cannot reproduce the crash while I installed the
libglib2.0-0-dbg package.

Thank you for your help.

Gyorgy
Comment 5 Myriam Schweingruber 2010-11-20 17:32:11 UTC
You are welcome, Gyorgy.

Ned, can you get a valid backtrace? The debug output is not really helpful.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

amarok (2.3.2) on KDE Platform 4.5.1 (KDE 4.5.1) using Qt 4.7.0

- What I was doing when the application crashed:Saving a new playlist, but when I press and hold the mouse over the 'Save Playlist' button and then release it, the playlist gets saved without crashing.

Comment 8 Dennis Schridde 2010-11-22 15:39:45 UTC
P.S: Reproducible: every time
-> It seems currently impossible to save the existing playlist, which is kind of a show-stopper, because I cannot play different lists this way.
Comment 9 Myriam Schweingruber 2010-11-22 19:13:25 UTC
Dennis, you don't have the Amarok debugging packages installed, so your backtrace is not useful, sorry.
Anyway, this is a duplicate of bug 252597, thank you all for your feedback.

DrKonqi said the backtrace is perfect, gave 3 stars and didn't offer to install debug symbols, so I assumed it must be ok. Is this another bug (against DrKonqi), which I should report?
Comment 11 Myriam Schweingruber 2010-11-23 11:42:25 UTC
Did you check if you have the Amarok debug packages installed?
For this bug it is not relevant anymore, as the bug is solved in 2.4-git already.
Comment 12 oar.garuna 2010-11-24 08:02:37 UTC
I didn't know a stable version of 2.4 was out?

Read again, I didn't say a version of 2.4 was out, I said it was solved in 2.4-git which will be the next 2.4 version, git being the development version.
