Description Florian Lindner 2010-10-15 21:28:42 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

If "Open folders during drag operations" dolphin not closes those folders it opened during drag. Even if the item was not dropped there but hovered erroneously there. Especially when the opened folder contains many items and the intended folder is below that is nasty. You need to do a lot of scrolling to get to the intended folder.

The folder should close it if the item is not hovered there anymore.

Reproducible: Always

Thanks for the report. I assume you use the details view with expandable folders enabled - is this correct?
Comment 2 Florian Lindner 2010-10-16 12:59:00 UTC
Yes. Details view with "Open folders during drag operations" as well as "Expandable Folders" enabled.
Comment 3 Peter Penz 2010-10-18 16:26:19 UTC
You can close the opened folder again by hovering a second time after opening it. I consider this behavior as OK, but I can leave this issue open as wishlist item if this behavior is not OK for you.
Comment 4 Florian Lindner 2010-10-19 20:26:17 UTC
I would appreciate leaving this item open as wishlist. Still I think closing when the cursor is not hovering anymore is the more logical approach.

And without expandable folders? How to close the folder again? I agree, closing the folder automatically after the drag & drop action feels more intuitive. Duplicate of Bug 223948?

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
