Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1) OS: Linux Sometimes, but not always, the "Minimize Animation" effect, which should zoom out the window towards its taskbar entry, actually zooms it out towards elsewhere, like the center of the desktop (!) or towards the taskbar entry of another application. Quitting and restarting the application usually fixes this. For anyone trying to reproduce: When you enable the "Minimize Animation" effect, make sure the "Magic Lamp" effect is disabled! Also, it can take a while for the bug to appear. Note that it only appears at application startup. If the application starts and the bug did not manifest, it's never going to unless you quit the application and restart it (or start another one.) Reproducible: Sometimes
reassigning to plasma as it's the taskbar setting the icon geometry used as animation target. If the icon geometry is not set: * minimize effect will minimize towards the center of the screen bottom * magic lamp will minimize towards the mouse pointer
Problem still there in KDE 4.5.2. I found one application that virtually reproduces this bug 99% of the time: Qt Creator.
