Description Pierre Dumuid 2010-09-15 04:13:34 UTC
Version: 2.3.2-GIT (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

When selecting and dragging a track within the main playlist, the mouse icon has a plus symbol that typically indicates a copy operation with respect to file manager. However, when dropping the target the resulting track is moved rather than copied.

This bug is related to Bug 170689, [Usability: copying a playlist item when CTRL+dragging], but this bug mainly concerns the inappropriate feedback the user is provided.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Populate main playlist with different tracks
2. Click-and-hold one of the tracks, and move it around..
3. Release the track in a different position.

Actual Results:
2b. The mouse turns into a plus symbol, but..
3b. File is moved not copied.

Expected Results:
2b. Mouse is normal.
3b. File is moved, not copied.

Hello there,
I am unable to reproduce the bug in Kubuntu 11.10 running KDE 4.7.4 and Amarok 2.5.
I am able to drag the file from the file manager to the now playing without a hint of trouble.
It would be really helpful if you upgrade to Amarok 2.5 and let us know that the bug persists.
Thanks,

Aakash: I think you misunderstood the description of the report, this is still the same behavior.

But @Pierre: in case you are not aware: the current behavior is the default behavior of file handling in KDE4, Dolphin shows exactly the same pattern, the big green + sign does not have the same meaning as the small + in a square used in other file managers. For me, this is not a bug.
