Description Leonardo La Malfa 2010-08-15 12:34:31 UTC
Version: 4.5.0 (using KDE 4.5.0)
OS: Linux

Dragging tabs to reorder them by use of the middle-click is not consistent with other KDE applications. For instance, you use left-click to drag:
- Dolphin tabs
- tabs in Kmail
- Kopete tabs
- items in the main panel within the Plasma Desktop
- items in widget (e.g. Desktop folder)
And so forth.

Conversely, the only application I am aware of that makes use of middle-click is Konqueror. Apart from not being immediately intuitive, it could prevent users of laptops and netbooks from rearranging tabs, in the event they don't use a mouse, and their touchpads don't include a middle button.

I think it would be a good idea to uniform behaviors consistently among KDE applications to allow users to have the pleasant experience KDE can definitely provide. Many thanks!

Reproducible: Always
