Description Sebastian Insua-Summerhays 2010-08-14 19:43:54 UTC
Application: amarok (2.3.1)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5)
Qt Version: 4.6.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.34-ARCH i686
Distribution (Platform): Archlinux Packages

-- Information about the crash:
I believe pacman took care of the dependencies when installing Amarok. I have also tried the package amarok-git but this gave me exactly the same error message. This is all with a fresh install of LXDE on Arch Linux.

When I try to start amarok via the terminal I get:

<unknown program name>(5971)/: Communication problem with "amarok" , it probably crashed.
Error message was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" : " "The name org.kde.amarok was not provided by any .service files" "

KCrash: Application 'amarok' crashing...
sock_file=/home/bedtimes/.kde4/socket-arch/kdeinit4__0

It then brings up the reporting a crash wizard. I asked for help on the Arch Linux board, but they've not been able to supply any (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=102672). I am wondering whether these error messages mean anything to you guys, or else whether you believe I could have run into a bug.

Thanks a lot for your time. :)

The crash can be reproduced every time.
