Description Henrik Tikanvaara 2010-07-26 14:55:31 UTC
Version: 2.3.0 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

Amarok does not load the next song after playing the previous. Instead it stops playing. Pressing the Play button does start the next song, but before the program started playing the next song automatically, and not just one at the time.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I start playing a song, after playing, Amarok just stops.

Actual Results:
Amarok plays the song in question, then stops playing altogether.

Expected Results:
Amarok should load the next song in the playlist and start playing it automatically.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-23-generic
Compiler: cc

Which Phonon backend are you using? This is either bug 227307 for the xine backend or bug 238791 for the vlc backend. In both cases a restart of Amarok should solve the problem, provided there are not errors in the playlist (unknown files or streams that are not available).

Clearing the playlist, restarting Amarok and putting Dynamic playlist on seems to solve the problem. My guess is that when I converted files from wma to mp3 and deleted the originals had Amarok confused.

Yes, I know, clearing the playlist and restarting Amarok is normally enough to solve that problem, still it is a bug, so could you please tell me which Phonon backend you are using?

I'm sorry but I am a bit illiterate Linux user, could you give me instructions how to find out the version?

In the Amarok Settings go to "Playback", there is a button "Configure Phonon". Check in the tab called "Backend"
Comment 6 Henrik Tikanvaara 2010-07-27 12:15:42 UTC
I am using Xine backend version 0.2.60.
