I wish to have a plugin to have a charset window inside the main interface program, so that I could easily and quickly choose the character I need during translation. Something like a simplified version of Kcharset, with the chance of choosing the subset of the charset.

i think this enhancement should be solved on [at least] kdelibs level, cause it is not specific to lokalize.

i myself use a custom x.org's xkb script to get typographic quotes and so on.
