I think the GPSsync plugin from kipi-plugins should also support OpenStreetMap when geotagging images, not only Google Maps. Why should we only support the big commercial one, when there are (better?) free alternatives? ;-)

We are working on this and there is also a GSOC project to add reverse geocoding. You can monitor the progress here:
