Description Arne Babenhauserheide 2010-03-10 08:43:04 UTC
Version: 1.4 (using 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-gentoo-r7

currently when I open a the first folder after logging in, dolphin takes about 1 second to show up, and the same goes for the first time I do a right click to show the context menu in it.

Is there a way to get rid of that uneccessary delay, like preloading dolphin and the context menu at login or when plasma starts?

It is done for konqueror, and I think dolphin could profit from it as well (normally when I do filemanagement, I only need it for a short time till I found my file, so one second delay for the first action is a serious slowdown - also I think it's psychologically important to have such a basic action respond promptly; at least for me it is).
