Version:           3.3.90 (using 4.3.90 (KDE 4.3.90 (KDE 4.4 RC1)), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          cc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.31-17-generic

In a prior version kate inserts perthensis around a selected text.
In this version (RC1) the selected text will be deleted.

Probably my fault. Will revert and fix for 4.4.0.

SVN commit 1089861 by dhaumann:

backport: fix regression with selection + autobrackets
Will be in KDE 4.4.1 again.
