Description semovrs 2010-01-07 19:19:31 UTC
Version: 4.3.4 (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I wanted to set up ALT+h as the shortcut for the "Activate Previous Tab" action in konqueror. The first time I used it it activated the submenu options under "Help" and the second time it pops up a message:

"The key sequence 'Alt+H' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts' from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity. No action will be triggered."

There are no other shortcut combinations like this in my settings. Even if there were why would it not prompt me about ambiguity when I had tried to set it up, like it used to do in KDE 3.5?

I doubt that KDE-3.5 would warn in advance for an Alt+letter shortcut.
It's conflicting with the opening of the Help menu, which is also triggered by Alt+H.
Better not use Alt+letter shortcuts, since these are already used as accelerators (whereever an underlined "H" is shown).

I'm not sure what we can do about this issue, actually.
