Version: 1.12.4 (using KDE 4.3.4) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages I installed aspell (0.60.6-2) and aspell-de (20091006-3) with apt-get. Now I wanted to use aspell for German spellchecking in KMail. Firstly; I set the standard language to "Deutschland"(Germany) in the systems settings --> land,region,language--> spellchecking. But when composing a new mail, I need to set the standard language in KMail to "Deutschland" again (New Mail -->Settings->spell checking). Then I have the German spellcheckin for KMail. However; the standard language settings won't be saved in KMail. Restarting KMail means resetting the standard language to "Deutschland" again.
Created attachment 39513 [details] system-wide standard language is "Deutschland"(Germany)
Created attachment 39514 [details] KMail standard language : blank entry However, KMail standard language is always to blank
Created attachment 39515 [details] KMail standard language set manually to "Deutschland"(Germany) I always have to set the standard language to "Deutschland" then the spell checking works in KMail. Unfortunately, the standard language setting cannot be persisted.
In bug #220843 it is suggested to change the spellchecking language from your identity *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 220843 ***
